Day 26 (Aug 24 2012)

Today was a red letter day.  We pulled out and processed the sediment traps for the last time AND I got to bed by 10pm, resulting in a full 8 hours of sleep.  First time so far this August.  We're definitely starting to cycle down (except for the aggregation team which, at this late, phytoplankton-depleted portion of the experiment, has turned into the zooplankton poop team).

And somehow I didn't take any photos, except for one in the morning, while I was waiting for the material in the retrieved sediment traps to settle out for 4 hours in the cold room.

The sad news for today is that Marja left us at 8:30.  The dry lab downstairs is very sad and lonely and lacking in some of its sparkle without her.

Aug 24 2012a-  Richard and Morris and Morris' new chew toy, 5 minutes before he ran off and hid it somewhere (10 minutes after he had been presented with it).
